150 -160 overnight tweets? If so, this octogenarian thinks that says something material about the ostensible stable genius's stability. Even Joe MAGA sixpack has got to begin to wonder. There may be a point where the fear of opposing him is overcome by the fear of not opposing him. When that will happen I don't know, but I expect it will.

Excellent, as always! Are we witnessing the beginning of Trump's descent into irrelevance? I don't know, but I think that as 2026 and 2028 approach, more and more Republicans will distance themselves from and disagree with Trump to stay in power. Their political ambition will supersede their fear of him.

I am referring to Gerald’s post, not you, Joe.

When 5 people witness a traffic accident they all decribe something quite different. It will be the same with todays column. Witness No 4 was a Joe Klein. He decribed the walls as closing in. He said there was a shift. He descibed knashing of teeth, people wearing ashes, a sense of doom. The other 4 didnt see any thing like that. Joe stared in disbelief at the other 4 witnesses and left totally confused.

Perhaps you're right. But we are in the midst of a traffic accident. As every banal newsmagazine article ever written concludes, only time will tell.

And your proof of this cliched statistic is what?
