President Trump in a sober and judicious manor explained the reason for the military engagement in Iran, the objectives, the historically extraordinary military accomplishments in only 32days, that the top levels of the IRG regime have been irradicated down to the Brigade level, that his administration is in negotiations with the some of the remaining leadership (which we know is through Pakistan intermediaries) and the unprecedented cooperation with the US’s Mideast allies established by his nobel peace prize worthy Abraham accords. President Trump politely scolded NATO countries for not stepping up to help secure the Strait of Hormuz because it is their problem, no oil flows through it to the US. It once again brings up the question of why the US should even participate in NATO if those countries don’t take some responsibility and contribute. Concluding President Trump described the two directions in which the exercise will end and stated the timeframe was two to three weeks.

So Joe you call it “balderdash”, once again demonstrating that you are too ignorant, too stupid and are suffering from TDS and so you are incapable of understanding what President Trump explained. Referencing Elissa Slotkin to explain what the “average person” thinks is another laugher. Like you, Elissa is so far down the IQ curve she isn’t capable of comprehending what the “average” person thinks. And if you bother to listen to her entire statement she starts out with “I don’t know”.

Joe I encourage you to seek professional help to deal with your TDS mental illness. You’ve become irrational. I can’t imagine wanting to go through life in some alternate reality. Good luck.

Finally, as a public service and since the losers in the lamestream media will not, I’ll provide a link to the simple explanation for this military engagement. Secretary of State Marco Rubio explains that “We were on the verge of an Iran that had so many missiles and so many drones that no one could do anything about their nuclear weapons program in the future. That was an intolerable risk.”

Consider the number of groups in Iran who will have by now reached out to Trump in high secret. All these groups see the possibility of being the next leaders of Iran.

They are all offering President Trump there credentials to run Iran. Who will Trump choose?

At the same time the remaining official leaders of Iran, broadcast loudly they are not in any talks with Trump and the silly mainstream media run with that story just to embarrass Trump (They are always on the lookout for clickbait)

President Trump has to keep quiet to protect the people and groups he is talking too. For any potential Iranian leaders, this is a dangerous time.

Wow, Gerald, you got some serious inside dope. I would imagine that Pam Bondi will be investigating you for leaking Trump’s 5 dimensional strategy secrets.

Thank you for the article, Mr. Klein. I agree with your assessment of the speech. , I hope he kept his promise. Nothing about his speech made a sense at all.

Joe, having written about the IRGC (Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, Potomac Books 2012) I believe the veterans of the 1980-88 war with Saddam Hussein’s Iraq started with the desire to never suffer attacks of that scale again and then developed a second key focus as holders of wealth and economic influence.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps failed to prevent the devastating effects of another war. That war came to the Guard because of their overconfidence which developed and grew as successive US administrations failed to adequately respond to attacks on Americans by the IRGC’s Quds Force and their principal proxies, Hezbollah and Shiite Iraqi militias.

I would have thought the strike that killed Qassem Suleimani during Trump’s first term would have been sufficient warning to the IRGC that Trump didn’t have the restraint (some would say lack of will) demonstrated by prior presidents.

Having failed in one key purpose I suspect many in the IRGC may so value their economic position that they will negotiate. Time will tell.

Agree…and thanks for your expertise.

Joe, your “balderdash” is bupkes unless you can specify which particular factoids our POTUS was making up. 😎

Majik, you can always tell when DJT is making things up because his lips are moving.

And then, of course, there’s this reminder from the grave of Winston Churchill, "In wartime, truth is so precious that she should always be attended by a bodyguard of lies.”

The absence of responsibility, the constant changes in his position and war aims, constitutes the balderdash...The war is having a terrible effect on the global economy and Trump, who started it, is gonna just walk away from the Straits and leave the rest of the world to solve it? And what about the highly enriched uranium? Obliterated or not? You, and Churchill, are right--the balderdash cocoon could enclose a lovely butterfly of peace. As I said, we don't know how crushed the Iranian regime is. They could fold tomorrow.

Joe, you don't pay attention, do you? What part of the White House explanation for the war don't you understand? (I provided a link to it in my post.) What part of President Trump's position or objectives have changed? Are you so uninformed that you don’t know that US intelligence has already war gamed out how to open the Strait of Hormuz? Don’t you realize that the Iranian regime has consistently lied that their misses only have a range of 1,250 miles but in March they launched missile targeting the US-UK base on Diego Garcia which is a distance of about 2,500miles? Do you not understand that demonstrates that Iran has missiles with the range to bomb the capitals of all European NATO countries? Do you not understand that President Trump is telling NATO countries that they need to participate in this military action to protect their countries and not to expect the US to do it alone? Did you not hear President Trump say that if Iran doesn’t turn over their enriched uranium the US will bomb those sites to dust? Did you not hear President Trump state that the top levels of the IRG regime have been irradicated down to the Brigade level? Joe, try to pay attention.

I don't pay attention to you.
